So, it’s no surprise that publisher PopCap is celebrating the gem-swapping games’ –and its many iterations –10-year anniversary. In honor of this milestone, PopCap says it will introduce an “all new way” to play Bejeweled Blitz this year, and in March, hold a ‘Show Your Bejeweled Love’ contest, where fans will profess their love via video or audio

Bejeweled Blitz says ‘we’re sorry’ – gives away 50,000 free coins

When the Bejeweled Blitz update launched on January 26, things didn’t run as smoothly as planned. Players were appearing, then disappering from leaderboards and many complained the game wouldn’t load at all. After a few days, PopCap says the game collapsed due to a “trillion exploding gems” all at once, and after a few days of retooling, the problems seemed to be fix.

Bejeweled Blitz down for maintenance, new update imminent

We’ve been waiting for the Bejeweled Blitz update — complete with coins and boosts — to arrive on Facebook, and it’s our guess that the changes are coming soon, based on the fact that the game is down for maintenance. For those who are desperate for a Bejeweled Blitz fix, Pop Cap is offering gem-swapping game Bejeweled 2 for PC and Mac for $10 (that’s half off the regular price), for a limited time.

Bejeweled Blitz coins and boosts update coming Jan. 26

Last week , we wrote about a new beta version of Bejeweled Blitz that’s currently undergoing testing, and Pop Cap says this new version of the Facebook game will officially roll out on Tuesday, January 26. The update for the iPhone version of the game is still TBD, says a company representative. If you’re not familiar with Bejeweled Blitz, it’s a match-3 game for Facebook and iPhone, and the goal is to match as many gems (three or more of the same color) as possible in one minute.
