Hotel City on Facebook: Check in and you won’t want to check out

In the past year, Facebook has been overrun with pet simulation games, farming games and, more recently, city building games. For those tired of plowing, harvesting and cleaning virtual pets, Playfish’s brand new game Hotel City , lets you try your hand at something a little different — running a hotel.

Hotel City on Facebook puts you in charge of a small hotel, with a few rooms, with the goal of turning it into a five-star sleeping palace by adding and decorating rooms and expanding as you earn more virtual coins. Everyone in Pet Society is ooh-ing and ahh-ing over the size of this cheerful green fish. Just in time for St. Patrick’s Day (March 17), the Shamrockfish can be caught with the new cupcake and drink labeled “This Week’s Special.” Be sure to get them by this Sunday, otherwise your luck may run out

Pet Society Beanstalk Seed grows into new secret room

If your Pet Society home is becoming a bit too crammed full of cute furniture and accessories, and you find yourself in need of a home expansion, head over to the game’s Cash Shop and pick up a Beanstalk Seed. The Beanstalk Seed costs 20 Playfish Cash, and, once activated, will grow into a secret room up in the clouds. Before you run to get your credit card, however, know that there is a limit of one secret room per player, so unfortunately, this isn’t a way to get unlimited space.

Hideeni’s Easter Eggs in Pet Society

We’re loving these colorful eggs that Hideeni started giving out earlier today. We wonder if they will ever hatch a baby Hideeni.

Nannybots in Pet Society

Yesterday, Playfish released “Nannybots,” that will feed, clean and play with your pet 24 hours a day. Nannybots are sold at the Gadget and Furniture Shops for 400 coins. Playfish has thrown in a free battery good for the first three days, but if you want to recharge it, you have to fork over some real money–5 Playfish coins.

PetVille wants you to free the mysterious creature within

PetVille is the second Zynga game to launch a quiet and unannounced new feature this week. When you log into your pet’s room, you’ll find that PetEx (a spoof on FedEx) has transported a creature caged inside a pet carrier.

As part of Pet Society ’s new Wizard of Oz theme , Lion Petlings have finally been released for those at Level 20 with 2,500 Coins to spend. He looks like a cowardly lion as a cub, but he’ll grow up to the cutest king of all critters. Strangely, out of the dozen or so buildings in the town, the gamemakers chose to sell Petlings in the Garden store, but hey, that’s where you’ll find ‘em.
