St. Patrick’s Day items have been released today in Pet Society , just as they had promised on their blog , which is all the invitation you need to dance an Irish jig.

Pet Society will give current fans 5k Coins for 100k new fans

Maybe Pet Society was inspired by a similar offer that Restaurant City pulled two weeks ago, which resulted in 100k fans getting 9k coins each . To quote, Pet Society is promising that: ” For every 100,000 new fans in the next 7 days we’ll give every fan 500 coins up to a maximum of 5,000! ” Even though they have an estimated 19 million Monthly Active Users to Restaurant City’s 15.4 million, Pet Society’s goal is obviously way more ambitious than what Restaurant City had proposed for its players

As most Facebook gamers can attest, the bite-sized games that live on Facebook are just that — bite-sized. It’s easy to sit down and play them for 15 minutes, and just as quickly go about your normal lives. There’s also not a whole lot of depth to these games — in FarmVille, you plant crops and harvest them to earn coins and experience points, then move on to Mafia Wars, you go on missions to earn cash and experience points.

This week, we happened to catch a glance of a new Playfish game — Hotel City — during CEO Kristian Segerstrale’s speech about the benefits of free games. A rep for the company reluctantly confirmed that the company responsible for Pet Society and Restaurant City, are hard at work on a hotel-themed game.

As part of Pet Society ’s new Wizard of Oz theme , Lion Petlings have finally been released for those at Level 20 with 2,500 Coins to spend. He looks like a cowardly lion as a cub, but he’ll grow up to the cutest king of all critters. Strangely, out of the dozen or so buildings in the town, the gamemakers chose to sell Petlings in the Garden store, but hey, that’s where you’ll find ‘em.

Pet Society Review: Garden Tea Terrace

Sushi splurged on the new Garden Tea Terrace (3000 coins), but was a bit disappointed that it was just for show. You can place stuff on the tables and the stone steps, but you can’t actually sit there and enjoy a cup of chai

New interactive Wonderland items for Happy Pets

Wonderland items have actually been available in Happy Pets since March 4th, but the developers waited until today to make their official announcements on their Facebook fan page . Part of the reason is probably because the game is still somewhat glitchy. Just the other day, I noticed my pets running into the wall of the first room, even though there was nothing keeping them there
